One of the last instructions Jesus gave His disciples before He ascended to the right hand of the Father is found in Matthew 28:18-20. He said to them; All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

In the area of early childhood development, recent research in the field of neuroscience has revealed the connection between proper nurturing and guidance and a child’s well-being. It’s the same in the church. Neglecting the commands of Christ concerning the nurturing and care of our “toddlers,” our new disciples, has resulted in a very dysfunctional church family.

Through many insights, we look at God’s way of creating a healthy spiritual family where all members are actively involved in the care and nurture of one another. This is not an option, but the commands of the Lord to lovingly take care of His sheep.
